From the Editor
Name change department: InfoCard is now CardSpace, and WinFX is now the .NET Framework 3.0. You'll be seeing the old names for a while, but now you know what's coming down the pike. Speaking of which...
The release of the beta of the 2007 Microsoft Office System means the Office devs get a wee bit of a break, and that you can get busy. On the front end, get an overview of the user interface, customizing the Ribbon (and part 2), and see the control IDs for all applications that use the Ribbon. On the back end, you can meet the Office XML file formats and extend the fixed-format export feature.
There's tons of info on the new Office apps as well, including InfoPath, Outlook (and part 2), OneNote (and part 2), and Word. On the collaborative side, there's Project Server 2007, Workflows for Windows SharePoint Services V3 and SharePoint Server 2007, and SharePoint Server 2007 for MCMS 2002 Developers. There's more, but I'm beyond getting dizzy at this point.
The From the Editor section will be taking a summer vacation to catch up with the deluge of Office dev docs, and maybe a few other things. See you in a while...
Happy coding!
Brad McCabe
